VPS has been testing for and lowering lead levels in school water since 2016 following Environmental Protection Agency standards. Now, the state of Washington has set a new standard.

Update: Masks and face coverings will become optional in VPS schools and buildings and on VPS buses starting Saturday, March 12.

The program may eliminate an at-home quarantine for students who are not fully vaccinated and who are close contacts of someone who tests positive for COVID-19.

Until state leaders change the rules, we must continue wearing face coverings indoors.

The policy will help ensure that all students have what they need to participate in school life and reach their full potential.
